Well, I missed another week. It's been a busy time with baking, wrapping presents and other holiday stuff. We're almost ready for Christmas. I have a few more things to wrap and a gift card to pick up, and then we're all set for Christmas.
Last Tuesday, I had my 1 hour glucose test and my hemoglobin check, and then I had a check-up after that. Everything turned out to be great at my check-up. I was shocked to be measuring 35 weeks! The appointment before that one, I was only measuring four weeks ahead and now it's closer to nine weeks. I guess the babies did a lot of growing. Thursday, I got a call from the nurse at my OB's office. Not only did I fail my 1 hour test, but my iron was low also. So now I'm on prescription iron twice a day and I had my 3 hour glucose test yesterday. They said that I would probably hear the results from that on Friday. Just in time for Christmas and all the goodies that go with it! I'm assuming we'll recheck my iron at my next appointment as well. I've been moved to having appointments every two weeks now.
I also had a growth ultrasound. Baby A is still breech and Baby B is still transverse. I've pretty much give up hope of them turning. I think they're out of room to really move that much. I'm trying to prepare myself for the likeliness of a c-section. At least if I have a c-section, we won't need to worry about birth control. I have already signed the consent papers to have my tubes tied if I do end up having one. Baby A is estimated to weigh two lbs, 5 oz and Baby B is 2 lbs, 10 oz. Funny, because Baby A was bigger at my last ultrasound. My cervix is still looking nice and long and closed. In fact, my cervix is looking so good, the doctor told me that I could cancel my appointment in two weeks to check my cervix again. I just have 2 more growth ultrasound scheduled now. One in 4 weeks and another in 8 weeks. That will probably be the last before they come.
I finally picked out the coming home outfits, too. It really made it sink in that I will be putting two babies into those outfits and bringing them home with me. Crazy! At most, we have 10 more weeks!
