I just wanted to give a quick update to let you know that all is well with the little guy. We had to be at the hospital at 6:00 am on the 10th. We got there along with the rest of my family, and we went back where they give him some medicine so he'd fall asleep. Then they took him to surgery. It lasted about two hours. After that, the surgeon came in said he was doing good but wanted to know what color cast we wanted. He asked if blue was okay; I said yes and then he asked light or dark blue so he got the dark blue. What a cutie.
After he was in recovery, his dad and I went back to see him, and he was on his hands and knees. He ate and did great. He came home the next day, and he did really well. He is no longer on any pain medicine, not even Tylenol. He is crawling and standing and everything. He doesn't let the cast get in the way of anything. He is such a trooper.
Wednesday we go to get the cast taken off, and they will fit him for the prosthetic. Then he will have physical therapy twice a week at the hospital, and he gets it twice a week at daycare with the alliance for infants and toddlers so he will get it four times a week. He'll be up walking in no time.
My family doctor gave me some medicine, and it is helping but I still need to go to a different doctor for help with sleep. That issue is still going on and has been going on for a while.
Work is going okay. One guy on our team got transferred to another team and then another one got layed off so now work is even more stressful. So much more work to do.
That's it for now. I just wanted to give a quick update. I've included a pic of him with his little blue cast and him playing with a friend.
