~ Geographic Tongue
Lil J is still doing really well. He had a CT scan to make sure everything was okay and it is. They said his ventricles are smaller and the shunt is stable so he won't have to go back for a year. Then he saw the dentist the same day. They looked in his mouth and said he has geographic tongue. Okay. They said it doesn't hurt anything; some people who have it don't like red sauce but Lil J loves it. They said his teeth are really clean and to keep up what we are doing.
Later on I noticed his eyes were swollen and all gunky when he woke from his nap. He couldn't even open them so we took him to Children's Express. The nurse checked him and said he has geographic tongue. I said, "Yeah the dentist just told me that." Then the doctor came in, looked at him for a second, and said he has pink eye in both eyes. Then she asked if he had drainage in his ear and when I said yes, she said ear infections go along with pink eye. Then she said he had geographic tongue. I mentioned that she was the third person who had said that today, and she said it's because when you are sick, the spots move to the front so they are more visible. So how come nobody told me that before? Oh well. Something else he has but it doesn't hurt him so no big deal.
Last weekend we went to Jeremy's parents' house for his cousin's wedding. It was okay. There were only about 20 people there, but it was nice. We had a good time although Lil J was cranky all weekend. I think he has yet another ear infection. But I also know his molar is coming in so that's probably why he was cranky and had the ear infection. Other than that he's doing good. Close to walking. He will walk about 7 or 8 steps now by himself.
Make a Wish team is putting together a wish team for him and then they will come out to the house to see what he wants. I think we are going to take him to Disney. The place they stay at is really nice and I think he will enjoy it. I'm so glad he is going to get a wish. He deserves it after all he went through.
Well that's about it for now. Hope you all have a great month and thanks for reading. Feel free to email me if your child has that geographic tongue and you can tell me anymore about it. Thanks.
