~ Holding Pattern
According to my doctor I was 10 weeks on Monday. According to me I'm 10 weeks today. I'm definitely feeling better and regaining some energy, though I'm still not perfect. When I do have a lot of energy, I'm scrambling to get as much done as I possibly can while I can. The end result is that I usually crash hard! But that's ok. It's almost a guarantee for a good night's sleep!
Overall, things are going very well. My kids are finally over all the sickness we've been dealing with for so long now. My youngest still has a cough that won't give up, but considering how miserable he was, we'll take that. It's gradually getting better as well, and I'm hoping by next week it will be completely gone. He hates that it affects what he's allowed to do in p.e. and recess. Lol. Oh, to have the worries of a first grader! We have two and half weeks left in the semester before Christmas break, and everything is coming together nicely. I decided this year we weren't going to scramble to finish something or squeeze one more thing in before finals. I think everything is going to work out perfectly, with two days for review. I really should start writing them, however! Four of my seven classes are reading Shakespeare right now, and I'm loving it. I love the larger works in our curriculum, and for the most part, I think my freshmen and sophomores are enjoying it too. My seniors are a different story, but they're too cool to like anything that has to do with school, right??
The tree is up, most of my shopping is finished, and I've even started wrapping. My holidays are going to be less stressful than usual this year, which is a great thing. We usually have to cram every place we have to be into Christmas Eve and Christmas Day. This year, it's spread out a bit more, and for once, I can't wait. I'm usually dreading the stress that comes from trying to stick to a time schedule that would make anyone pull their hair out. We are also counting down to my youngest son's birthday. He was almost my Christmas baby. He was in such a hurry to get here! If only he'd known. We go out of our way to make sure his birthday is completely separate from Christmas. Christmas paper is not allowed on birthday presents in our house! But there is always a tree in the background in all his pictures. It's a Phineas and Ferb birthday. His friend party will be at our local bookstore with the amazing Miss Donna. We have had several parties there, and it's guaranteed to be a good time. She is the most creative person I know and has such a knack for coming up with things that kids love. Plus she owns the bookstore, which is my favorite place to be! It's a great combination.
Have a great week, everyone!
