~ Christmas Break!
Well, we made it. Finals have been given and graded. Final grades have been figured. Today is our Christmas party day, which involves watching movies and moving from classroom to classroom to play video games, basketball, puzzles, chess, etc . . . The kids enjoy it. I don't know that the teachers care for it too much. Lol. I'd rather this be our second exam day, but the administration feels like they need a reward. Of course, with the number of students who skipped today, this might be the last year for it!
And, of course, pregnancy brain has kicked in. I'm not good about remembering things anyway, but now it's really bad. I left this morning without my first grader's present for his teacher or the presents for either secretary. Luckily, my husband is very patient. He's on nights, and as soon as he got home, he gathered everything up (they weren't even wrapped!) and brought it all to me. A quick wrapping job, and everything is delivered! It makes me wonder what else I'm forgetting. I'm sure there are several things!
I'm looking forward to break for several reasons, not the least of which is getting my kids out of school and away from germs for a couple weeks. Remember how I said I hoped T's cold was the end of it, but I wasn't going to hold my breath? Well, Sunday morning, G started throwing up again. He missed Monday and Tuesday this week and finally went back today in time for the Christmas parties. I'm going to put both of them in bubbles! We are considering requesting that G be allowed to carry a bottle of water with him rather than drinking from the water fountains. I don't know if it will do any good or not, but at least it's something we can try. They neither one have ever been sick this much, and it's very frustrating. Other than that, I'm just looking forward to two weeks off of work and time spent with the boys. We have lots of plans, which include a trip to Chuck E. Cheese for good report cards and a trip to see family over by Indy. I feel like we need to squeeze as much as we can into these next six months. I know they don't realize how much things are going to change when this baby gets here, and I feel like I need to make it up to them now.
T had an excellent birthday. He got to take his best bud to an indoor hotel water park the weekend of the 10th, he had his awesome friend birthday party at the bookstore, which was a blast, the 16th, he had his family party on the 18th, and we finished up with cake and presents again yesterday on his actual birthday. We usually save most of his presents from us til the actual day, but I'd say it's safe to say we overcompensate for his birthday being so close to Christmas. He loves it, however, and has told us several times that this has been his best birthday ever! It's worth it to see the smile on his little face. I'm already planning what to do for G's 11 birthday. It needs to be epic as well, because the baby is due three weeks after. He has several ideas, but at least one of them would involve waiting til after the baby is born. I'll leave that up to him I guess. We do have awhile to plan.
On the pregnancy front, I'm feeling really good. I still have the occasional bouts with nausea, and I still can't eat meat, but otherwise, I'm pretty much back to normal. It's so nice to have my energy level back up to par! My house is clean and actual meals are getting cooked again. I'm also not falling into bed exhausted at 8:30 or 9 at night. Now if I can just bet back to my exercise routine, I'll be good. My doctor told me last week that running is fine as long as I keep my heart rate in an acceptable range. I haven't run for at least 6 weeks now, so I don't think that will be a problem. I'll be lucky to get two miles in! I have to start somewhere, however! Plus, I have to do something to get this weight gain under control. It's awful. I'm not sure I've ever been so hungry in my life. I know it wasn't this bad with the other two. Hopefully that will level off here very soon as well.
I hope everyone is doing well and has a wonderful holiday! Until next week!
