Week 26
~ I'm an Aunt!!

sistersMy little sister gave us a St. Patrick's Day baby! Elias Shawn arrived at 6:48 Eastern time on Saturday, March 17. He weighed 7 pounds, 13 ounces, and was 22 inches long. He is absolutely beautiful, and we are all head over heels in love with him. I'd post a picture, but I didn't ask Jenn if she cared, and I don't want to without her permission. You'll just have to take my word on his perfectness! Jenn did great, and she let me and our sister Whit watch the birth. It was so amazing, definitely the most amazing thing I've ever witnessed. I will definitely let her be in the room with me if she wants to be. I've never been one to have anyone but my husband and me in the room during the births of our babies, but I will definitely make an exception this time! Needless to say, having a new baby around has definitely put us in the mood for our own little one to arrive.

It was really lucky we had our pictures taken last week instead of putting them off until this week! Tomorrow is her due date, and we had debated changing our appointment to Monday or Tuesday of this week. We took them on Thursday, and she was at the hospital at 2 am Saturday morning. We barely made it! The ones we have seen so far are really good. I'm including a couple with this entry. I scheduled more for the beginning of June to do with Ken and the boys. It should be fun. I was laughing because I thought there would be such a big differences in our sizes, and there really wasn't as much as I thought there'd be! Lol. Granted, in the one where we are standing back to back, I was pushing mine out, but still! It's absolutely horrifying that I've already gained more with this one that I did with either of the other two overall. I'm trying not to think about it. And I'm trying to stay away from Hostess little donuts . . .

sisters!I really only have one symptom to complain about this week, since I seem to have the reflux issue under control. I ITCH!!!!! Everywhere! My belly, my breasts, my back, my legs, my arms. It's awful! It seems to get worse every time I take a bath or a shower, too. I've tried both and neither make a difference. I use a ton of cocoa butter, which helps, but it doesn't completely get rid of it. Sometimes I have a rash on my arms and legs, but it's not always there, and I can itch as badly when it isn't. I didn't have this at all with the other two. I had some itching, of course, associated with my expanding belly, but nothing like this. My next appointment isn't til April 10. I haven't decided whether to call the doctor or just wait. I'll probably just wait, because I really don't think he's going to be able to tell me to do anything different. Except maybe take cold showers since warm water seems to aggravate it. I don't think I can do that!

Otherwise, things are good. My kids are staying healthy (knock on wood!), as am I. I can't believe we are over halfway through March already. This school year is going to be over before I know it. It's flying by, and I'm perfectly ok with that. We have Easter break coming up and then the weekend after that, we are taking the kids to Chicago for the weekend. I really wanted to go to the beach over Easter, but we only get the Friday before and the day after. We don't get an actual week long spring break. We talked about flying out Thursday and flying back in Monday, but to be quite honest, I hate to be rushed like that. I also didn't want to shell out the money for the crazy airfare. That was actually probably the deciding factor. We also talked about Disney. I would have rushed and spent the money for that, but in my current condition, I wouldn't have been able to do much. So we are staying home for Easter and just taking a weekend trip the weekend after. We will probably try to do one more weekend trip before the baby gets here.

The second trimester is winding down. Only two weeks left, then I guess the countdown will be on. Have a great week, everyone!
