Week 36
~ Not Much Longer

This week started off with my last ultrasound. I actually had it scheduled right before my doctor's appointment so they ended up being back to back. The kids got to go along this time, as did my mom and my husband. The tech was the same lady I had last time and she remembered me so that was kind of nice. The scan took about 40 minutes or so and she was really good at explaining to the kids what they were looking at and answering any questions that they had. I always enjoy seeing their faces when they are learning something new. Unfortunately, we didn't get any pictures of our little guy. He is already head-down and low and getting big so we couldn't even see his face at all and I didn't really want a picture of his leg bone. Nonetheless, it was so nice to "see" him again.

Everything looked perfect with the scan. She was guessing his weight to be around 7 lbs 2 oz. No wonder he feels like a bowling ball in my belly. It was so nice to see a healthy little boy (and yes, he's still definitely a boy!) in there just wiggling around happy as can be. He was quite active during most of the scan so it did make it a bit tricky to get all the measurements, but she finally did.

After the scan, I headed straight over to my doctor's office for my weekly visit. All is great there as well. My doc comments every time she sees me now at how big my belly is. I'm quite large I must say. Heartbeat was right where it should be and my urine and blood pressure were perfect. With the swelling I'm having in my feet and the fact that I got pre-eclamptic with the twins, it's always on the back of my mind, but so far, no signs of it.

She did another internal and still only 1 cm dilated and no change in effacement. I guess this little guy is content to stay put for now, which is fine by me. I'd rather be a bit uncomfortable for a couple more weeks to ensure a nice healthy baby.

My strep B test came back fine as well, so no worries there. So for now, unless something changes, we just move forward from here. My c-section is scheduled for April 12th, although no one seems to think I'll make it that far. I'd be 39 weeks 1 day. I guess time will tell.

Until next week . . .
