This was a New Year's Eve that I don't think I will ever forget!! We had a tornado touchdown in my town that afternoon. It was the scariest thing I have ever been through. We all ran into the closet and had pillows and blankets over us. The power was out so we had no way of knowing what was going on. I did have my cell phone and was calling my mom who lives about 15 miles north of us. The storm had already passed their house. She was able to tell me when the tornado was passed us. Brooke said he heard the freight train. I did not hear anything besides rain. I was too busy praying and worrying about Allie. Allie did great! She was not scared a bit. She kept asking "what's going on out there"? We did a quick run through around the house to see if we had any damage and saw that our fence was leaning and two of the gates were blown off. Thank goodness that was the only damage. It could have been worse. God definitely had his angels watching over us. We knew we were going to be out of power for a while so we decided to pack up and head to Brooke's sister's house. When we pulled out of our neighborhood and into town, it just took my breath away. The tornado was so close to our house. Just about every business on the side of the interstate had damage. We were out of power till the next night.
Sunday was my birthday, 29. The last year in my twenties! Goodness time flies by; I remember turning 19!!
I went to the doctor today and they told me that Claire was measuring a little over 6 lbs. That means that Claire could possibly be an 8 lb baby. I just did not imagine. Allie was 6 lb 13oz, so I was thinking more on the smaller side. I had no idea she was possibly that big. As long as she is healthy that is all that matters. Everything looks good, placenta has moved its way up. I have had a little cramping down low, but doc said that it could be anything. As long as the pain goes away after a little while it should be fine.
I am scheduled to deliver at 12:30pm on January 27. I have to be at the hospital at 10 am. They said nothing to eat or drink after midnight the night before. Okay, so how am I supposed to wake up and not drink anything?? Especially, since I do not have to be at the hospital till 10:00. I am a little uneasy about that.
I am getting very nervous, excited and all those feelings that you get as the time approaches. I have been trying not to put too much thought into it. I still have so much to do. I just realized that I need to get some nursing bras and a night gown for the hospital. I am having a "sprinkle" this weekend. It will be exciting to see what all I get. Then my friends at work our giving me a shower as well. This will be an exciting week.
I guess I am starting to nest. I decided to clean out the refrigerator the other night. It will be interesting to see what I decide to clean next!!
