Week 14
~ Changes All Around Us
Well you wouldn't believe it or maybe you will. I've actually started feeling better from all the nausea I was experiencing. Please knock on wood for me that it stays this way. I still don't feel that well throughout the day, but I'm actually able to get out of bed (thanks to my hubby who makes me breakfast every morning) and get ready for work. It's not easy but it's doable! By the time I get home and settled I'm exhausted. By 8PM I'm so tired I'm falling asleep on the couch. I make myself stay up until at least 9PM, but it's sure hard. Interesting how I'm just not able to do the things I did before. It's been a hard change in some ways. But oh so worth it!
Speaking of change . . . my wardrobe that is, I've had to go and purchase a few items. My belly has sure become bigger and it's very noticeable that we are expecting. I really didn't think I would be showing so much already. Doctor says it's normal and I've gained the right amount of weight so far (4 pounds). I'm sure I've put on more since I haven't been visiting the royal toilet bowl as much. I'll find out next week how much more I've gained. Not really looking forward to that. It also wasn't fun trying on clothes and taking them off repeatedly in a small fitting room. I was so exhausted and really ready to get out of the store by the end of it.
We went this last Monday for an ultrasound that is done in the first trimester to measure the spine and neck. Guess what . . . according to the tech I'm measuring ahead. Go Figure! Therefore, the test could not be performed. It really didn't matter to me as I couldn't take my eyes off the monitor. Watching peanut cross its legs and suck its thumb was worth the trip. I've posted a picture for you to see. Look at those cheeks! I can't wait to squeeze them.
We go back for another ultrasound the week of Thanksgiving and they will also tell us if we are having a boy/girl. We can find out earlier, but I would rather find out then as we plan on keeping it a secret until Thanksgiving Day. This way I don't have to keep it a secret for very long. We have our idea on how we will reveal the news to the family. I'll keep you posted.
I'm excited that Fall is really upon us. I love it! I live in Southern California and we actually have had two days of drizzle/rain. We don't have weather like this very often and I normally don't like the cooler weather, but I'm loving it now! The change of weather means we are one season closer to Spring. Now I'm counting down the days until Winter!
Change is happening all around us . . .
