Week 17
~ Where Did the Week Go?
I think week 17 has been the fastest week in this pregnancy. I was working so much and such odd hours that it just flew by. I'm a Catering Sales Manager for a Convention Center and I help plan social events. I worked on an event to help raise money that helps families with children who are less fortunate. They build homes and really nice apartment buildings for families to live in who might not other wise be able to afford a place to live. This same organization also offers after school programs for kids whose parents work a full time job. It's all funded through donations from large companies, state senators and mayors. It was a real pleasure working on this event! However, standing on my feet for about 8 hours didn't go that well. I was so exhausted and I didn't get home until after 11PM. Getting up the next morning for work was not fun at all. The only good thing was that it was a Friday, so my hubby and I planned on doing nothing on the weekend.
We had such a great weekend together. We ended up getting dressed up and went out for a really nice steak. Boy oh boy it was a fabulous dinner! I was still talking about it the next day. We then rented a couple of movies and picked up some Cold Stone ice cream. If only we could live everyday as if it were Saturday!
My back has been killing me everyday! I'm not sure what to do about it. I heard that certain exercise to stretch your back will help, but I'm not sure what these exercises are. I suppose I need to do a little research. Maybe I can find a pregnant yoga class or perhaps a DVD so that I can do it from home. I would also LOVE to find a place that offers pregnant women a massage. I day-dream about this! I suppose I'll be spending lots of time on the internet doing research!
I went to Babies R Us to just walk around and it's a bit intimidating with all it has to offer. My hubby and I are going to register for some things as we are planning a baby shower in January. I think we will register in steps as doing it all at once seems to be a big undertaking. We need to decide what it is we really need. I think I will start with a list of essentials. This way I don't register for everything and end up with a 20 page registry. I ended up walking away with a really cute little hat with ducks on it and a couple of onesies.
All is all it was a good week; it just went by really fast. We are looking forward to the next couple of weeks as we soon find out if we are having a boy or girl. We are so excited!
