Week 16
~ In Spite of It ALL

This week has been crazy!! Thank God that I feel better or I would definitely be dragging. After my post last week and giving God glory for all of my blessings and my life, I shook hell I think. The devil took note . . . Ephesians 6:11-12 says to, "Put on the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil. For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places."

This was my week. I live an hour from anywhere. My doctor, a mall, the movies, hospitals . . . just about anything except local grocery stores, gas stations, and the like. So as I started to work on Monday afternoon after trying to make sure that our house was in order (Dad coming into town) and that everyone was fed and clothed before leaving, I was a bit stressed out. I got in the car with the boys and my eldest son said, "Oh No!! Mom, I have a rash." As moms, we know that a rash on a child, be it a five year old or the fourteen year old that was wearing it in my car, can spread like wild fire depending on what it is. SO . . . not to work, to the doctor, with no appointment, to wait. Lord, help me to be patient, was my prayer!! He did. After leaving there at 3:20 and getting meds filled, plant dermatitis by the way, only one hour left to work. So off to work I go. No one came in that hour though I was not surprised as work has been slowing more and more lately. God is still providing for us and we are eating and have a roof over our heads, clothes on our backs and shoes on our feet which is more than some, so we are still blessed!!

Dad made it after being 17 miles from my house and tearing the front bumper up on the car. There was a dog that looked like a small horse that just appeared in the way and he couldn't go anywhere to avoid hitting it. It was a white German shepherd/wolf mix. They had to wait on the police to do a report and the owner came over and said that he normally tied him (the dog) up at night and he did not that night. So around midnight Dad and Ms. Margie made it to the house. I revealed our secret to them and they were so excited!! I told daddy that I wanted to have them go with me to my appointment the next day. The next day came and I had appointments all day. We heard the baby's heartbeat and it was nice and strong. The boys were amazed.

I got a call that my mother was taking my grandmother to the ER so before we went home, we stopped by the hospital to visit. Tuesday night I started to feel bad and called my doctor who then referred me to an Urgent Care Center or ER. So off we go. Another day an hour away from home . . . one way to find out that I have a nasty throat infection. I left with my prescription and headed to get it filled. Remember the rash? Well the meds did not help and it was spreading everywhere!! So another appointment at 5:40. This was also the week of our kids crusade so we were rushing to get there each night! More meds for the rash that we'll fill in the morning, I thought. In the meantime I get a call that granny will be having surgery to get herself a pacemaker, at seven in the morning. Okay, so I'll have an early morning. We left the next day at 5:30 am to get to the hospital to give some sugar to granny before her surgery. Well, we made into the hallway as they had just left with her in the patient elevator, no sugar for granny after all. She did well and came out of surgery then I gave her some sugar!! I stayed with her during the day and left to come home around 5, Aunt Denise made it to stay the evening with her.

Forgot about my itchy son, oops. We didn't get the medicine filled as we were rushing to get to church and as we live in a one horse town that rolls up main street at 6 PM so we couldn't get the medicine until the next day. First on my to do list was just that, and I am grateful to report that my baby isn't itching anymore and was very understanding about all of the week's obstacles. The girls came over but before they could get to us they found out that their uncle was being rushed to the hospital by ambulance, their nanny has been in the hospital during this week as well so they to have been back and forth to the hospital also.

I have also been suffering from some pretty nasty side effects from having my gall bladder removed last July, so I thought. Went to visit my surgeon to discuss these side effects that are entirely a different problem and completely unrelated to my surgery. Friday, I got a call that the specialist that I was referred to, can see me at the end of July. It is hard for me to be at the barbershop working when I am in the bathroom having difficulties. I have been missing work and will continue to and was planning on staying home with the baby anyhow so Gregg and I made the decision to go ahead and stop working now because of my issues. We went Saturday afternoon and picked up all of my stuff from the shop. I have unintentionally offended my precious mother in the process so, dealing with that too.

Believe it or not I know that God is in control and that when the smoke clears I will be victorious in Jesus name, I already am!!

I am proud to report that I can cook again! We had a wonderful Father's Day lunch and my brother and his family and sister and her family came over to be with daddy on this day and just enjoy each other. It was great! In spite of it all I still give God all the glory for my many precious blessings each and every day! During times of trials and difficulty I cling to my favorite scripture that comes from Isaiah 40:31, "But they that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as the eagles; they shall run and not be weary; they shall walk and not faint." It is also stated in another favorite of mine in 2 Corinthians 12:9, "My grace is sufficient for thee: for my strength is made perfect in weakness. God can bear our burdens and carry our load in our troublesome times." I Peter 5;6-7 says, "Humble yourselves therefore under the mighty hand of God, that he may exalt you in due time: Casting all your care upon him; for he careth for you."

I don't need to worry, God is on control and He can see what I have been through, am going through and will go through in the future. He is my heavenly Father that I am so grateful to have, he is looking out for me because I LOVE him! I will hold my head up high believe God for favor among men and know in my heart that he is with me guiding me in all that I say and do. I will have a smile on my face because I have PEACE in my heart, mind and soul! I pray that God walks with you this week and keeps you in the palm of his hand.

Be Blessed,
