Nicole's Pregnancy Journal

Introduction
~ Meet Nicole

Hello everyone! My name is Nicole. I am 28 years old and have been married to my dear husband, Edwin for almost four years. We are the very proud parents of a 14 month old son named Gabriel. I live in rural Arkansas and work at a non-profit based company, at which I have worked going on five years.

Anyway, I was intending to focus my journal primarily on the trials and tribulations of being a working mother with a small child, when God threw my husband and I a curve ball. We are pregnant again! We are due November 20 and although I was a bit overwhelmed at first, I am completely ecstatic! My husband hasn't gotten to the ecstatic part yet, but he will.

We have determined with this child, that while we don't know yet how we will manage it financially, that God wants me to be a SAHM. I am planning on working up until the baby is born, however, I am having a form of morning sickness (all day sickness) with this child that I didn't have with Gabe. Hopefully, that will ease up a lot. We are trying to be frugal right now and live like we will have to when I no longer work at a job outside the home.

I want to fill you in a little on my life with Gabe so far. He is absolutely wonderful! He has been the easiest baby, so easy going. He, from two months of age, started sleeping through the night, granted it was right next to us! Also, he is just so calm, that even when he is sick, you may not know it. Now something tells me that I won't be so lucky this time. HA HA Anyway, I'll be praying for a smooth ride this time too, but because Gabe is so easy, maybe we deserve a few bumps in the road, but just a few. I tease Edwin all the time that the reason we got such an easy, good child the first go around, was the fact that God wanted us to have more children, and not stop at just one!

When we found out that I was pregnant a second time, it was really tough on my husband. He's still adjusting to having one baby in diapers still. He is the most wonderful father, however he will be the last to admit it. He seems to be coming around, how could he not? When I was pregnant with Gabe, he walked around with this blank look on his face for two whole months. Everyone was secretly laughing at him and praying for him behind his back. Well, he doesn't have that look now, but he did when I told him. I'm really proud of how well he is doing with all of this.

As far as the pregnancy goes, everything seem to be doing fine, except for the heightened sense of smell and taste that I have. I am having the hardest time feeding the dogs in the morning. Soft dog food is the worst smell in the world. Also, as I said, I am having to deal with morning sickness this time too. I was hoping to not have that, but that was one of the little indicators that I might be pregnant before I knew for sure.

You guys feel free to email me. I would love to hear from others who are working moms and those staying at home. I'm gonna need all the help and advice I can get.

Till next time . . .
