Week 30 ~ September 12, 2002 ~ Moving Along Wow! It's so weird to type that. I am 30 weeks along. Actually I'm pushing 31 weeks, but who's counting anyway, huh? Just kidding. I just can't believe that we are in the home stretch. It just seems like yesterday that I saw that faint pink line on the home pregnancy test. It was so faint that I didn't even believe it until I took the other test the next day. Then of course I had to convince my dear husband that it was true. I will never forget the look on his face. It was priceless, as those commercials say. Baby and I are doing great. No more blood pressure episodes or anything like that. I did pull a muscle somewhere in the vicinity of my diaphragm that sent me to the hospital. It was really very scary because the pain was intense, but the baby was fine and they told me to quit picking up Gabe so much. Yeah right! Like that's going to happen. ADVERTISEMENT I only have two weeks of work left and believe me I am counting the days. I will have a baby shower on the 19th. Hopefully I'll get lots of good little girl stuff. Also, my office is having a going away shower party for me on the 27th. So much to do and so little time. It is exciting though, as well as a little scary, this transition from working career woman to stay at home mom. I've always worked at something, and I know that raising two babies is going to be harder work than I've ever done before, but I can't help asking myself if am I really ready for this. I know that everything will be fine and especially with the way things are in the world today, I need to be with my kids; I just hope I don't get burnt out or miss my job. My doctor has moved my due date up to November 13, but we'll see. Gabe was 10 days late, so I'm not pushing my luck with this one. Has anybody out there had one late baby and one early baby? I would be interested to know. I keep trying to convince my doctor to induce me early, which I said I would NEVER do again, but I'm really getting tired of being pregnant. Oh well, I guess she'll be here in her own sweet time. I know it really won't be long now, it just seems long. Speaking of Gabe, he is doing great! He is developing into such an interesting little boy. He is so full of fun and energy that he wears me out. I think he would even if I weren't pregnant, but I wouldn't change him for the world. He is learning so many things as such a rapid pace that I am having a hard time keeping up! Last night I asked him to name a bunch of things and then point them out and he go every one right! Much to his dad's amazement. I was so proud of him. He's going to be a great big brother too. I just can't wait to introduce him to his new little sister. Well, I think that's enough rambling for now. Keep for fingers crossed for me that this baby will be right on time. Thanks! And God Bless!
