Week Four
~ A Really Strange "Cold"

This week I had a really weird flu. Each of the boys has had it and now it looked like I picked it up as well. I had all the usual symptoms; runny nose, sneezing coughing, sore throat, etc. Besides the nausea and tiredness commonly associated with a cold or flu, certain smells were making me feel ill as well. I kept having to run to the bathroom and I didn't want to eat. Duh, I think to myself now as I remember telling different people about my strange "cold."

Last month my period was seven days late and I was getting concerned that I might be pregnant. After all, Samuel was only six months old. What would everyone say, think . . . how would I deal with that? I had told Shawn about it and adamantly told him that if I did turn out to be pregnant (I had already taken a test that turned out negative - but I thought it might have just been too early), I didn't want to tell everyone right away so I could get used to the idea before I had to talk about it. So what does he do? That very night he made a comment a friend of mine while she visited. That prompted "the question." I was sooo mad. I repeated my concerns to him later and he apologized saying that he had forgotten what I had said. Oh well, the next day I knew I was definitely not pregnant. I was relieved and disappointed all at the same time. After all, it doesn't take 10 minutes of thinking you may be pregnant to start the daydreaming.

We went to March for Jesus on May 29th. I always enjoy that event and other than being ravenously thirsty and having to run to the bathroom when the march was over, I had fun. The boys loved it and that's all they could talk about for the next couple weeks.
