These past couple of weeks have been feeling like I'm getting over the hump of the first trimester symptoms. I feel like I'm mostly over them, then I'll have one pop up on me out-of-the-blue. I guess it's a good reminder that the machine is working properly.
Adisyn has officially told all of her teachers in preschool the news. I think each one has come up to me and asked if I made the announcement yet because "Adisyn is very excited". She tells everyone she is going to be a big sister, "mommy has a baby in her tummy" and "Mommy is going to have a little girl". She also makes up names for the babies, which have nothing to do with any name we have ever mentioned around her, but I'll give her credit for creativity.
This past week I think my busy schedule caught up with me. Adisyn and I don't get home Monday through Thursday until 7:30 at the earliest and since we leave each morning at 7am, it makes for a long day. I noticed I'm more tired at lunch, when I normally take a little walk, but this week I just want to sleep. I haven't told the people at my work yet, so it makes it a little difficult. By Thursday this week I finally told Mark that I just thought I should come home right after work and go to bed. Easier said than done, as I think I still made it to bed at the same time, but maybe a little less activity helped.
We had our Christmas celebration with my in-laws this weekend so all of our family officially knows! They were thrown off by Adisyn telling them that "mommy has a baby in her belly" a couple of weeks ago, but when I explained that they were talking a lot about babies in school because one of her teachers just got back from maternity leave, then it made sense to them. This is a true story about the teacher, but we really wanted it to be a surprise for them. They were very surprised!
Next week I go back to the doctor for another ultrasound. It will be a comfort finally seeing the baby since it has been so long since our last ultrasound. It will be nice reassurance that the baby is growing and doing well, despite no physical changes in me just yet. It will be a great Christmas knowing the baby is active and growing! We can't wait to see it!
