Week 10
Pregnancy Symptoms

Another routine OB appointment . . . they took my blood pressure, checked my pulse, and weighed me. I have gained two pounds! Yikes! I have been sick all week. The problem is that I have been eating junk when I feel like eating . . . Doritos, Spaghettios, etc. My blood pressure was fine. I really do not expect it to be elevated this early. The nurse tried to detect the heart rate with no luck. I wonder why they do it this early? I knew they would not find anything. I think it was week 14-16 before I heard a heartbeat last time with the doppler.

The doctor came in, and we talked for a few minutes. He asked about my visit with the specialist, and I discussed that with him. All in all he agreed with everything the perinatologist said. He tried to feel my uterus, but he still can't--maybe next time. He told me that he wants to see me every two weeks as a precaution. If my blood pressure does go up again, he wants to know about it as soon as possible. It was a pretty routine visit.

I have been feeling a little sick this week. For a few days I felt really good; now I am not feeling well again. My stomach bothers me most of the day, and I am so, so tired again. I could have gone to bed at 6pm last night. It is nice to have pregnancy symptoms so that you know that you are pregnant, but I cannot help but envy those that go through a pregnancy without any!

Ryan has not been feeling well for the past few days either, and I am going to end up taking him to the pediatrician, I am sure. He was diagnosed with asthma this winter, and I am not sure if it is the asthma acting up or whether he has a chest cold. I have been giving him Tylenol for three days now. He is grumpy, slightly congested, and has a cough. He is also getting his molars so teething may be the culprit as well. Sigh . . .
