Lauren Elizabeth Marzolf was born by scheduled c-section on December 31, 1997. Her mom, Robin, had pre-eclampsia, and it was felt that for the safety of both mom and daughter, Lauren should be delivered. Robin was 36 weeks pregnant. She had pre-eclampsia with both her previous pregnancies; the first resulted in the stillbirth of her daughter, Rachel, when the pre-eclampsia caused placenta abruptio. Robin's second pregnancy resulted in the birth of her son, Ryan, at full-term and healthy.
Here, in Robin's words, are the first days of Lauren's life in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit, her homecoming and updates on her infancy. |
