Week 16
~ Popcorn
Last week I started feeling the baby move and it felt like popcorn popping. Now that I have made the connection of feeling the baby move with popcorn, do not even think about offering me any popcorn to eat! Once upon a time I could live off popcorn, but those days are long gone. I've had one very definite kick, but beyond that just the small popcorn feeling maybe once or twice a day. The kick happened yesterday when I went to pick up our Chinese food. I sat down to wait for the food and "bam," out of the blue the baby kicked!
Tonight my mother-in-law is cooking dinner for us and my brother and sister-in-law. She is about ready to pop! She's been having the Braxton Hicks contractions since Friday and is now 3 cm dilated. Since she has gestational diabetes they won't let her go past her due date - November 20th. If she hasn't gone into labor by Monday they will induce her.
I'm going to have to go shopping for maternity clothes pretty soon, and may ask for some clothes for Christmas. I bought one of those belly bands to go over pants that are too small so you can leave them unbuttoned. I haven't yet used it but I hope it works as well as it is supposed to!
I have been "nesting" recently (at least that is what my husband says) and have managed to do a fair bit of Christmas shopping already. I don't want to leave it to the last minute, like I normally do, because I seem to be more easily stressed out now that I'm pregnant . . . imagine that!
