Sarah's Trying to Conceive Journal

Entry 1
~ Watch out Ireland - here I come!

I'm starting my TTC journal with my period almost a week late. It's been late every time I've had it since I've been off birth control pills, so nothing to get excited about yet. I've been tracking my ovulation by peeing in a cup and putting a test strip in it for 10 seconds. I haven't ovulated in the past two weeks. Jamie and I are hoping that I will ovulate at the end of this week. We're hoping this because we will be in Dublin, Ireland celebrating our 1-year anniversary! Wouldn't it be cool if we could tell everyone we conceived in Ireland! I'm not getting my hopes up too high right now.

Jamie and I are sooooo excited to be going to Ireland. We've always wanted to go - and we decided we should go before we have kids to tie us down. We leave today, and both of us are just thrilled to be spending a whole week in a 4 star hotel and no pressures on time. On top of all the worrying and excitement of the trip, getting pregnant is still in the back of my mind. I've had to spend a little extra time at work to get everything done before I go, but it will be well worth it! I don't want to think about the shape my desk will be in when I get back though!!

Packing last night and this morning was hectic. It's mainly due to the fact that I wanted to get everything ready to go out the door so that when Jamie leaves to pick me up from work he could just put everything in the car. We're going straight to the airport from my work and it would have just been simpler to have it all done. Well, I managed to get it mostly done . . . so I gave him a list of things he had to do. He wasn't that crazy about it, but I did get all of the clothes, shoes, etc. packed so all he had to make sure of was wearing a coat, decent tennis shoes, taking out the trash, and finishing the dishes. Hopefully I'll get pregnant in Ireland! It would be the icing on the cake!!
