Week 24
~ So Far, So Good

My 24 week checkup went well. Michael's heartbeat was at 150 bpm, though it took a while for the nurse to get his heart rate because he kept kicking! I did put on five pounds, but that brings my total weight gain to only eight pounds. My blood pressure was 112/76 and my belly measured perfect for 24 weeks!

The first week in February we go for our next four week appointment and to get a glucose test done. The time is just zooming by! We finally got our Christmas tree taken down and all the Christmas stuff stored in the attic . . . except for the outside lights . . . which are still hanging on the house. The nursery is most of the way cleaned out now. We just have a couple more boxes to go through and put a couple more things in the attic. We go this weekend to pick up the rest of the nursery furniture, and I really want to have a clean place to put it all!

The weather has been super cold this past week so it has made it hard to want to do anything except curl up in bed with a book when I get home from work. I'm really going to have to get over that. As lazy as I have been, I haven't been sleeping well. I haven't gone to sleep before midnight all week. I get up at 5:45am and most of the time I get up in the middle of the night to pee. I guess it's just my body's way of getting me used to waking up every few hours when Michael gets here. My doctor did say that I could take Benadryl or Tylenol PM if I needed to. I'm trying to hold off on that for at least a couple more days.

Jamie and I decided that we might take a trip the last week of January for a couple of days before the baby comes. Right now we have no definite plans but we're looking at Richmond, VA, Charleston, SC and Las Vegas as some options. My doctor cleared me to travel since I'm doing well and will still be in my second trimester. Hopefully we'll have some definite plans come next week!
