Weeks 27 & 28
~ How Tired Can One Person Get?
The past two weeks have gone by so fast that I can hardly keep up. I'm in a daze from lack of sleep and would love to do nothing more than curl up in a ball and sleep for a week. However, that is not possible. Part of my lack of sleep is coming from Restless Leg Syndrome, something I had never heard of until now. While my body and mind wish to sleep, my legs are refusing to let me. It's hard to describe the feeling but the best I can say is that my legs feel twitchy and kind of achy. They don't want to just lie still on the bed.
My 28 week appointment went well. Michael's heartbeat was at 150. My blood pressure was 112/66. My stomach measured at exactly 28 weeks and I've gained a total of 14 pounds. It was also the appointment where they do the glucose test. It wasn't nearly as bad as I thought it would be. Mine tasted like a sweet orange cool-aid and I had it down in two gulps. After the hour long wait, the nurse had some trouble finding my vein. I've never had a problem with blood being taken my veins are normally visible on the surface.
Two nurses and three tries later, a vein was finally found and blood taken. The needles didn't bother me that much and even though they had to search for a vein, it wasn't too painful. Although, needles at the doctor's office don't faze me, thanks to a couple of detailed tattoos that I have. Once you sit down and have a needle jab over and over again into your skin for three hours straight, the small prick at the doctor's office is nothing.
If I don't hear from my doctor today, she said to assume that all was well with my glucose test. The saying "No news is good news," rings true here!
