Week 8
~ A Walking Zombie

ultrasoundI have never been more tired in my entire life! This week has been brutal - I've been extremely sleepy and I'm finding it hard to stay awake at work. I still have some morning sickness every now and then. There doesn't seem to be any rhyme or reason to the causes - time of day, quantity of food, type of food, etc.

Thursday was my 23rd birthday and the day we got to see our little peanut (my husband says parasite) for the first time. It was only a centimeter big. Hearing its heartbeat brought tears to our eyes. Its heart was thumping at 140 beats per minute. My next checkup is September 22nd. I can't wait until we're out of the first trimester! It seems to be dragging by sooooo slow.

I had a bridesmaid luncheon on Sunday and a family get-together for all the September birthdays. Now I feel like I need a break from the weekend, though I managed to sleep Friday night, all day Saturday and Saturday night with minor breaks for food and the bathroom. I think I would sleep all day every day if I could!

Fetal Heart Rate StripThe only other symptoms of pregnancy that I've had has been sore breasts and breakouts that manage to cover most of my face . . . and hurt. It seems no matter how many times I wash my face, it's not going to help at all. Oh well. Even with all the little downers of being pregnant (breaking out, throwing up and becoming a walking zombie) I've been happy about the whole thing. There was nothing I wanted more than to be pregnant - and I have my wish!

I take the bad with the good and am enjoying the whole process, though I hope the second trimester takes it a little easier on me!
