So much has happened in the past two weeks that it will be tough to remember everything. Let's start with happy news. My sister-in-law is having another BOY!! This will be her third boy, with the oldest at 15 years old and her most recent at 18 months. She is in for one hell of a ride!
I had my monthly checkup and I got to hear the heartbeat for the first time! It was at 165 bpm. Everything looked good with my blood pressure and I didn't gain any weight this time, which is good since I gained 6 pounds the first two months. As slow as the last two weeks have seemed, this pregnancy is flying by!
Now, for the sad news. A cousin of mine collapsed with a brain aneurism at the gym. She was rushed to the hospital and air lifted to another. To make a long story short, she ended up brain dead and they took her off life support. She was only 27 years old. She has a 9 year old daughter and was married this past New Year's. Her husband was overseas in the military and was rushed home to say his goodbyes.
It is a painful reminder that tomorrow is not promised. Everything can change in the blink of an eye and you need to live everyday like it's your last, because one day it will be. The funeral was beautiful and there wasn't a dry eye there.
I think that about sums up the past two weeks. They are sort of a blur right now with so many things happening at once. My step-sister is due today and anxiously awaiting her baby . . . who seems to be stubborn and not wanting to come out. My other step-sister is at college orientation. I can't wait for boring days where nothing happens!
