~ Doctor's Appointment
My doctor's appointment went well yesterday, except that my doctor had no idea about the vomiting problem. She didn't think it sounded pregnancy related at all, but that I must have caught a bug or something. Up to yesterday I would have fought her on that analysis, but I indeed felt terribly sick all day yesterday. I feel pretty good so far this morning, but it is still early and anything can happen. My doctor suggested that if things didn't improve in the next day or two I should go in to see my regular family doctor.
I got my Rho(D) Immune Globulin shot yesterday, since my blood type is negative and my husband's is positive. It was a rather painful shot--the nurse said it was a pretty thick fluid that they shot into my arm. My arm continued sensitive all night, and I resisted sleeping on that side. This morning there is just a nice small bruise at the site. The nurse told me I get one more shot just like it right after birth. I'm sure I won't care so much about a shot at that point.
I also have to go and do glucose testing for gestational diabetes sometime in the next week or two. I'm not looking forward to that, but it will be good to find out. The nurse suggested I wait until I am not throwing up much anymore as she said the drink mixture can sometimes induce vomiting. So we'll see how that goes.
The weather is showing signs of cooling for the coming fall, and that is helping my spirits quite a bit. I love the autumn; even if we don't get much in the way of season change in Southern California, I still enjoy the cooler temperatures. I would usually take this opportunity to attack my yard and garden full throttle and begin to remedy my summer neglect, but I just don't have the energy or the flexibility this year. I want to get out there and do some pruning sometime soon--I think I can manage that much. Luckily my husband has been great about picking up my slack in yard maintenance. We will undoubtedly have another heat wave or two before the year is out, but I will enjoy the cooler temperatures while they are around.
