Entry 5 ~ December 5, 2008 ~ Breakfast with Santa & Some Attitude
I hope everyone had a great Thanksgiving! We spent that morning with my Dad and the evening with my Mom. Keegan really enjoyed it, although he wasn't much on the Thanksgiving meal. He liked the turkey but the rest of it he could definitely do without. It was a good day though.
Keegan and I got out in the madness of black Friday. We really should have stayed in bed though because it was crazy and I didn't find any wonderful deals, although I believe I have pretty much completed my Christmas shopping. Keegan is really getting excited about Christmas. He tells me every day that he wants to see Santa Claus so he can tell him he wants a big dinosaur. Saturday is "Breakfast with Santa" at the mall here so I guess we will be there bright and early. It's pretty cool though. They serve pancakes and sausage and then the kids get to see Santa and get their picture taken with him and then they have several little craft booths set up that the kids can go and make things. I think they also have a moonwalk. So that will make for a fun morning. I hope that Keegan really will actually talk to Santa. Last year he wouldn't get anywhere near him, let alone take a picture with him. I think he's so concerned with getting a big dinosaur though that he might do it.
It's hard to believe that Christmas is only three weeks away. Time goes by so quickly, especially as an adult. I remember when I was a kid each season seemed to take forever and now it seems like I just blink and years have flown by. It amazes me every day the things that Keegan is learning and how big he is getting. However last night I wasn't sure about all that. Keegan had scattered some of his toys in the living room and I told him to pick them up. He argued with me at first but then when I started counting, he looked at me and said "fine" as he picked it up and stomped off to his room. I couldn't believe it. I wasn't expecting that kind of attitude for a few more years! It may not sound like a lot of attitude just reading it, but to have actually heard the sarcasm in his voice, it really was. I've heard that the terrible two's last until they're 18 so I guess I have a few more years to go.
