It's a few days into my 41st week of pregnancy and I am still pregnant. Our little bundle of joy has decided to stay put a while longer. On Thursday of last week Sean and I had another NST and an OB appointment. The NST looked good, very consistent heart rate and the baby did well with the contractions. Even after the pitocin and all the contractions at the hospital on Monday I was still only 1cm dilated and my cervix was unchanged so we were sent home to keep waiting for the baby. We did set up another NST, ultrasound and OB appointment for Monday morning.
Over the weekend I continued having sporadic contractions. Sean and I did some walking and we worked on our house remodel, trying to get things put back together to move home. We finally moved home Sunday night. It was so great to be in our own house again. All I asked through the whole pregnancy was that I be in my own house when the baby came and now I know I'll have what I wanted.
Our first night back I was convinced that I was in labor. I had mild contractions throughout the night, starting at about 10:30, but I was able to sleep through most of them. At about 3:00am I couldn't sleep any more and I woke Sean up to keep me company. We had an early breakfast and hung out in front of the t.v. until our appointments at 8:00. The NST looked good and the baby's heart rate is still very healthy. I was certain that my appointment with the doctor would show that I was 2-3cm and almost ready to go to the hospital... BUT the doctor said I was still only 1cm!!!! I was 70% effaced though so I guess the contractions had done some good. Our ultrasound showed a small drop in the fluid levels but it is still adequate enough for the baby right now. The doctor did decide to set up an appointment for us to be induced on Friday though, so we will definitely have a baby some time in the next week.
I don't think we'll have to wait long though, for the past 2 hours I've been having contractions every 2-8 minutes and for the past hour they have lasted 30-55 seconds each. So after I send this journal in we are leaving for the hospital. Keep us in your prayers. I'll post as soon as I can after we get home.
Sean and I would like to proudly announce the birth of our baby girl.
Hannah Elizabeth Millichamp was born 11:17 AM, Tuesday August 16th weighing 7 pounds, 3 ounces and measuring 19.5 inches long.
Both Hannah and I are doing very well and are now home from the hospital. This picture is me holding Hannah 4 hours after birth.
We are very grateful for all of your prayers, well wishes, and support.
Her birth story will follow next week.
Congratulations Stacie and Sean!
Welcome to the world baby Hannah!
