~ Yes I Am Still Here

9 monthsOkay, so I went to the doctor on Monday and I still havenít progressed any, so he stripped my membranes again. He was a little more aggressive about it this time, and I must say that it really hurt. I thought for sure that this would be it. I had some pretty painful contractions for the rest of the day, but nothing regular, mostly about 20 to 30 minutes apart. And then on Tuesday, I lost my mucus plug (yuck). It was tinged with blood, probably from my rough exam the day before. So anyway, that was some progress.

On Wednesday I went back to the doctor to check my progress and my cervix was still the same about 1 1/2 - 2. Dr. C then told me that there is still hope that I will go into labor on my own, but if I donít, he is scheduling me to go in on the 18th to be induced. I will have to call the hospital at 5:30 a.m. on Wednesday morning to let them know that I am coming and then I am to check in by 6:00 a.m. I told Dr. C that I would have the next 6 weeks off of work and couldnít we schedule it more around lunch time, but apparently 6:00 a.m. is go time. So, that is it. It sort of feels strange to know an exact date that I will go into labor (and hopefully deliver). I guess it is nice to be able to make exact plans. I still hope that I go into labor on my own, but it is nice to know that I wonít go past Wednesday.

At church people are constantly coming up to me and asking me why I am still here. It is irritating only in that I have to keep repeating the same story over and over. "I am ready too. If I donít go by Tuesday, they will induce on Wednesday." I canít tell you how many times that I said that last night. At least it is reassuring that everyone is thinking of me.

Well, if I havenít had this baby by Monday, I will try to get in one last journal before my birth story. But if not, I am posting my last pregnant picture.

Iíll let you know!!
