Week 28
~ I'm a Flunkie!

TamiraWell, for the first time in four pregnancies I flunked my Glucose Tolerance Test. I am a flunkie. How could this happen now? I guess every pregnancy is different. But the most ridiculous part of it all is that I have to go back Monday to do a three hour test. Three hours?? And I have to fast! Fast, as in no eating?? This is so inhuman! Surely there is a better way. I mean really, what in the world am I going to do at the doctors office for three hours? I hope they have a cot or something that I can sleep on.

I cannot believe that I am already in my third Trimester. Where has the time gone? This little bundle could be here within 10 to 12 weeks. Wow! I really have to get crackin' on the younger kid's room. I already have the bedding for the crib and for Violet's big girl bed that she will get when she turns two next month. I just have to have the room painted, buy Violet's big girl bed, and work on some wall art. For their room I am going with a frog theme. I bought a pink and green quilt for Violet that has frogs and butterflies embroidered on it. So cute. And for my little guy I bought a bedding set that has frogs and ducks on it. I figured that froggies were pretty neutral for a boy and girl room. The greens in both sets match each other.

This week Violet has started potty training. I believe she has been ready for a while now, as she always holds her diaper when she goes and says, "pee-pee" or "poo-poo". She has done so well so far. I take her to the potty every 30 to 45 minutes, and most of the time she will go. She does have the occassional accident in her pull-up if we are out and about, but it has only been 6 days. She even stayed dry through the night last evening. Wouldn't it be great to have her out of diapers/pull-ups by the time the baby gets here? I have hope, I just have to stay dedicated to the cause. You can't get lazy about taking them to the potty, or they will get lazy about going.

I attached my 28 week picture to show my progress.

Until next week!

~ Tamira
