Week 20
~ Man-cub

I still cannot believe that I am going to have a son. I am filled with a sense of pride that I will be producing a man-cub for my husband, but I am also filled with trepidation because I don't have any experience with boys. I just hope that all of us girls are up to the task of manning up our man-cub.

Brooke, my oldest, has been gone now for about 2 weeks to stay with her father. I am missing her so much, but she is having fun. She is doing volunteer work in a hospital that her step-mom works at. I am proud of her for that. She is coming home tonight, Friday, for 2 days before she heads out for camp on Monday. She will be gone there for another week. This is her first time going to camp. I am excited for her. She has grown up so much over the last couple of months and is finally turning into a young lady. She was stuck in a tom-boy faze for most of her life, but now she is totally changing. It all started when we got her contacts instead of glasses last month. Then we went shopping and she asked for some new skirts! Skirts! I still can't believe that one! Then she needed a purse to carry her contact solution in amongst other things. She is really turning into a lovely young lady. Next month she will be getting braces.

This little boy in my belly has really been making his presence known ever since we got to peek at him on the ultrasound. I love to feel the little tappy-tap-taps that he does in there. Not quite strong enough for anyone else to feel, but that is okay because right now they all belong to mommy!

My husband was home this past week for the 4th of July weekend and Monday. That was great considering that he has been gone almost four weeks! He is never gone that long, but for some reason they just couldn't manage to route him back. Violet is always so excited to see her daddy. Everytime we pass a big rig on the road she says, "Daddy!" She doesn't want anything to do with anybody except Daddy when he gets home. He always brings a honeybun to share with just her. She expects it too. She is not old enough yet to get upset when he has to leave, probably because she is always sleeping when he heads out, but I know that day is coming. She is getting so big now. I can't believe that she will be 2 in October.

Well, that is all for this week!
