Week 26 & 27
~ Busy . . . Busy . . . Busy
The past two weeks have been super busy and have kind of run together. In week 26 I wasn't so busy as I was preoccupied with my thoughts. A young girl in our church, whom I used to coach in cheerleading at the Christian School about two years ago, just let it be known three weeks ago that she was expecting a baby. She had kept it hidden, even from her parents for the whole nine months. When they found out, they let her marry the guy she has been dating for a while. She had her baby last week, and it died two days after she took it home. I just am in shock by the whole situation. I just feel so bad for her and her family. I didn't know if I would be able to handle going to the funeral, but I wanted this girl to know that I loved her. It was the hardest thing I have ever had to watch. I almost lost it when they brought out the tiny little casket. I will not go on and on about this sad event, but it totally floored me.
Week 27 was all a blur. On Monday I had my OB appointment, I had a meeting that I attend once a month, and I had a Sunday School meeting from 7pm until 9 pm. Not to mention I bought a minivan. That was the highlight of my day. I have longed for a minivan for so long and this one just kind of fell into my lap. It isn't brand new, but it is so nice not to have to scrunch this big ol' belly into the back seat of my car to buckle Violet in. Now I can just stand there and put her in almost effortlessly. I love it, and the kids love it too. Probably because they don't have to ride around in my "grandma mobile" anymore.
On Tuesday, Brooke had an orthodontist appointment and guitar lessons, and on Wednesday I had a dentist appointment and, of course we had church. Needless to say, with all of these extra appointments added to our already busy schedule, I am happy to report that week 26 and 27 are over.
At my OB appointment I found out that I have already gained a whopping 24 pounds! I am very disappointed by that number because with Violet I only gained a total of 13 pounds for the whole pregnancy. I have plenty of extra weight already, so I don't need to gain much. I just can't believe I am just entering my 7th month and I have already surpassed my last pregnancy by 11 pounds. Well, what can I do now except try to do better? My appetite is starting to get smaller as I get bigger, so that should slow it down some. I am scheduled to go back next week for my Glucose Tolerance Test. I will keep you up to date.
