Tamira's Pregnancy Journal

Week 30
~ Ouch, Ouch, Ouch!!!

Okay, let me first issue a warning that this entry will definitely involve a TMI factor, but I will write it anyway as this is a pregnancy journal and this is definitely a pregnancy issue.

In the past I have thought that I have experienced what it was like to have hemorrhoids while pregnant. But I have to tell you, I have never experienced anything like what I have been going through this past week and am still going through now. It all started on Monday morning. Evidently, the night before I had eaten something that didn't agree with me, and I was in the bathroom what felt like all morning and all afternoon. Because of this my derriere was left quite sore. By that evening I knew that something was not right down there. So I decided to get out the trusty Preparation H. (Okay, here is where it gets personal.) When I went to apply it, I was horrified to feel what was down there. It was an outtie, for lack of a better word. It felt huge, and I was scared, too scared, in fact, to look with a mirror. I globbed on the Prep. H and left the bathroom. I was uncomfortable the rest of the evening.

When I woke up, I felt better. It was a miracle I thought. The Prep. H has done the trick in less than 24 hours. But then, I had to use the bathroom. And that is when my worst fear reappeared. It was painful the whole day. I laid down as much as possible to keep any pressure off. Luckily I had a doctor's appointment the next day, Wednesday. I was humiliated to tell him about what was going on, and if I had of known what he would do to me, I never would have mentioned it. Upon examination of the "roid" he proceeded to try and put it back where it came from. I thought that I was going to cry! That was the worst pain. It hurt so bad and didn't even work! Every step that I took after that moment for the next 2 days were agony. He has prescribed me a foam to use and told me to come back in 1 week so that he can check it. If the cream doesn’t work, he said he may have to drain it (ewww, owww!!!). I want to die just thinking of how that will feel. So needless to say, I have been using the foam 4 times a day as prescribed, wiping with Tucks whenever necessary, and applying Prep. H religiously. So far, it is Sunday, and the pain is pretty much gone, unless I have to touch it, but the "roid" is still there. I am still hoping for a miracle. I have until Thursday morning.

On a different note my daughter, Rachel, and I got all of the plans ready for her birthday party on September 20th. It is going to be so much fun. It will be a "Survivor" theme and we will have so many different competitions that are similar to ones on the TV show. The kids will love it. Gary should be home to help me out with it. We are expecting 10 girls at least to show up, so this should be a great party for Rachel. We will have a mud pit, tiki torches, buckets of water, blindfolded events, a huge puzzle race, a clue search, and so much more. Very exciting. I'll let you know how it all plays out next week.
