~ When Are You Due????
Rachel's "Survivor" birthday party was this week, and it was a huge success. There were 10 girls there and they all had a great time. They gave me a scare on the first challenge, though. There were 2 teams of 5 and I tied them all together at the waist. The challenge was to have both teams race through an obstacle course tied together and then untie the knots. The first team with the knots untied and up on the trampoline wins. Well, it sounded like a good idea on paper, but when you have to play it out, not so good. I had them first weave through cones, then go over the trampoline, and then they should go under the trampoline. Well, getting 10 girls ages 10 through 13 on and off of a trampoline tied together is a bad idea. I will just say that we barely escaped with just a few scrapes and bruises. (I hope my homeowners insurance is not reading this .) The rest of the events went smoothly. Gary was there to help me out and I am very thankful for that. He was only home for 1 1/2 days. That really stunk. The whole time he was home was spent running around getting ready for the party, setting up for the party, and getting his food and things ready to head back out on the road for 3 to 4 more weeks until Violet's birthday in October.
We also had Revival at church every night this week. It was great to hear the preaching, but tough to be out until after 9 every night of the week. It definitely took its toll on my energy. It is good to be back on schedule.
Well, I must definitely be going through a growth spurt as far as baby is concerned. People are constantly asking me when I am due, as if the answer will be next week or something. When I tell them that I have over two months to go they just look at me in disbelief. Some even ask if I am sure that I am not having twins. I guess I would be offended by these comments if I didn't look absolutely huge, but I do. I am starting to think that this will be my biggest baby yet, provided I am not induced early to keep him from getting that distinction. I'll tell you what too, he is about as active as they get. This little giant is constantly on the move. Top and bottom on the move at the same time, which makes for quite a sight when I am watching my bare belly. He hasn't hit me with too many bladder kicks yet, but I know they are coming.
I have started making the baby blanket this week. I will be embroidering 6 panels for it over the next weeks (time allowing). I am really excited about it.
Heartburn is really a constant part of my life now, as well as having to go to the bathroom constantly. But as bad as going all day is, I am still able to sleep all night without getting up but one time between 5 and 6 a.m. So I will try not to complain.
And as a follow-up to last week's entry, I am pretty much pain free now. I went back to the doctor on Thursday and he is keeping me on the foam for another week because the "intruder" is still not completely gone. I asked him if it will ever be gone, just in jest, and he was not very encouraging there. He said that it could be reoccurring, even after the pregnancy. Whatever! I would have preferred that he lied to me about that one.
Anyway, until next week!
