~ Blessings and Concerns
Last week I was talking about how my OB visits were a "continued assurance" that our baby is okay. Well, this past visit was not. After a physical feel and measuring of my stomach, my doc said she was worried that the baby was not growing at an appropriate rate. Since she could be wrong and just to make sure, she wants us to come back for another ultrasound to get some more measurements. Needless to say, we'll be back at the office this week. At first, I was really concerned by the way she commented. However, I mentioned it to a friend of ours (who was an OB for 20+ years) and he told us not to worry. He said that both moms and babies come in all shapes and sizes and we should just enjoy having another ultrasound unless something more firm was established. Both my old roommate and my mom responded to the concern with "Has she seen your husband?!" For those of you that aren't aware, I'm 5'6" and my hubby is 5'3". Most people expect us to have a small baby. Anyway, I'll keep you all posted on that issue. As far as I can tell, little Hannah is continuing to grow and get stronger each day. I can feel her kick like never before and I've felt her roll/move in complete different directions on more than one occasion. Sometimes she moves in such a way that I have to stop walking (or standing) and try to move her so I can move more comfortably.
The beginning of last week was a bit of a struggle. I think I caught a stomach bug of some sort and spent Tuesday evening vomiting and the next two days feeling like I could again. Fortunately that has disappeared. I haven't had much of an appetite since, which is kind of odd. The bigger my stomach (and the baby) gets, the fuller I feel. Sometimes I'm starving and as soon as I start to eat, I feel full again. I am also starting to feel the trickling down of the third trimester lack of energy. People know me as a highly energetic person. But my energy is quickly waning and I'm having to depend solely on the Lord for strength. I still have two more months of school before I'm able to fully rest so I need all the energy I can get.
As of the last journal, I do have a huge praise. My maternity insurance has FINALLY been approved. So here I am, nearly seven months pregnant and I finally have maternity insurance! Thank God for His provisions and all of you for your prayers! Oh and the first of my family's three upcoming arrivals has arrived! My brother's baby Ethan James was born a week ago - happy, healthy, 7lbs 10oz, cute as a button. Lord-willing, I'm next, then my sis is due 3 1/2 weeks after me. Lots of little ones!
Until next time . . .
