Week Sixteen ~Ultrasound! This week we had our ultrasound with Larry's sister, and the next day an appointment with Dr. H. Unfortunately, it was too early to see what sexes the babies are. We weren't too disappointed, unlike my family, because we got lots of pictures of them, and we spent 30 minutes looking at our babies sleep and move around. According to their measurements, one weighs approximately 4 oz. and the other 5 oz. They both are right on schedule. One measured 16 weeks and 1 day, the other 16 weeks and 2 days. I was 16 weeks and 1 day when I went in. I've got pictures of one of them sucking his thumb! It was so cute! We loved getting a glimpse of our babies. Seeing them move around and knowing that we really have babies in there. Sometimes it still seems surreal to us. We are actually going to be parents soon. ADVERTISEMENT My doctor's appointment was a little chaotic. They are moving their offices to the other side of the third floor. Of course they didn't know they were moving that day and hadn't rescheduled their appointments. They had me come in earlier and then made me wait and hour. Well, I got to see the new offices. Only one room was set up. And they didn't seem to know where anything was. I was a little irritated when I left. Believe it or not, my blood pressure was actually low after all this. It was 130/56. Dr. H was relieved to see that it's still down. He warned me not to get too confident; I still have to take it easy. The third trimester is what he's worried about. I haven't gained any weight yet. I think it's shifting around from other places. I also tested negative for protein and sugar. I've been testing a one plus on protein each time. This time my bladder was very full (especially after an hour of waiting), and I think that helped. I also had my AFP triple test done. I'm not sure how long it takes to get the results for that. I'm hoping everything is okay. I really don't want an amnio times two! I've been feeling pretty good this week. Still feeling movements. My biggest complaints right now would be lower back pain on the right side, sore muscles, and an occasional sciatic nerve pain. The nausea still bothers me once in a while. It's no longer as bad as it was. I've been having headaches nearly every day. I mentioned this to the nurse who didn't seem concerned so I guess I'll just keep taking Tylenol even though it doesn't help much. My next doctor appointment is in three weeks. This will be for an anatomy scan. I'm hoping to have Larry's sister Missy try again before that. I really want her to be the one to see what they are. Maybe she can try again in two weeks. I'll be 18 weeks then. Surely we'll be able to see something then.
