Andrea and Lauren-Elizabeth
Vaginal birth, five centimeters to 10 centimeters in 30 minutes

I was 41 weeks pregnant, and contracting every night for weeks. Four days post due, I couldn't take the pain anymore and went to the hospital only to be sent home at one centimeter. I returned the next morning at four centimeters and was admitted.

After having been on a slow pitocin drip for four hours and dilated now to five cm, I told my husband and family (who were starving) to go get something to eat. Everyone left me including the nurse, and within 15 minutes my water broke and the baby was on her way. The doctor came in and we waited five minutes for my husband to return, and with three pushes Lauren-Elizabeth was born. Just 30 minutes after I was at the five centimeter mark.
