Samantha was three weeks early. I had been on bed rest for most of my pregnancy. I went into pre-term labor at 5 1/2 months. The day my doctor finally took me off bed rest, was the day I delivered her.
I had been out running around all day to get the last of the baby things I needed. My boyfriend, my Mom and my Dad had all been at work that day. We lived with my dad. He came home and I told him I did not feel good, and that I was having contractions again. He said we would not go to my Grandma's birthday party that night. I told him it was okay for him to go out and if I needed him I would call. Well, about an hour later the contractions were really bad and I was crying. I called my Mom, and she said she was on her way. I called my boyfriend's parents and his step-Mom said she would meet us at the hospital. I called my boyfriend at work, and he went to the hospital and got my room ready. When I got there, it was the same room my Mom had delivered my brother in seven years earlier.
They checked me out and said I was fine. I knew I was not fine when my contractions were about four to five minutes apart. They did not listen at all to anyone in the room. They told my parents and my boyfriend that I would be back there in the morning and I would be ready to have a baby. So, they gave my Mom a pill and said it would relax me and let me sleep that night. I went home with my Mom so she could watch over me. Then I went into labor. I thought I had to go to the bathroom, but my water broke from me trying to push. They got me to stop pushing and then the paramedics arrived and delivered Samantha.
My Mom, brother, aunt and 18-year-old cousin were there. I did not need stitches. Samantha weighed 5 lbs. 13 oz. and was 19 inches long. She is beautiful with blue eyes and dark brown hair.
